Take a towel & soak it with water & lay it over the bug area, let it soak for 10-15 mins, then wash your bike like you would. Bugs will come off with a garden hose with a spray nozzle. As for the one in the pic, don't hit it at all costs.

"50% water / 50% hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Spray down the bug covered areas good. By the time you get the hose, bucket, sponges, and car wash ready the bugs have bubbled up and they wash off easy."

I'm in this camp. Works well!

For the dried on ones that have sat in the sun for a couple of days, use a dryer sheet. They come right off.

Hot water and microfiber towel. Get them wet with hot water and they wipe right off.

Park near a hornets nest and go for a cool one. By the time you are back the bike is clean as a whistle and the hornets are well fed. About as environmentally friendly as you can get.

Seriously though, I am in the camp of 50-50 water/peroxide. On a well waxed surface this concoction works as good or better than any of the more expensive bugbegone products on the market.

Put a wet towel over the shield and front at night. They will wipe right off in the morning without scratching the shield or paint. Apply some plastic polish (I use Honda spray cleaner and polish) and go ride.

Hey everyone,

Thanks to those who have mentioned using 303® Speed Detailer to remove some bug residue from your bikes! For bugs that may be more difficult to remove, we recommend using 303® Multi-Surface cleaner, which is a stronger cleaner to remove tougher bugs/dirt/grime and is safe on your bike's paint, plastic, metal, etc.

If anyone has any questions or would like to try some samples out, please send us a PM with your mailing address (sorry, no P.O. boxes).

Have a great day!

I just use Hydrogen Peroxide in a spry bottle. No need to mix it with water, as the Hydrogen Peroxide is already only a 3% solution from the store. Pure H2O2 is pretty volatile. The James Bond Bell jet pack, uses almost pure hydrogen peroxide as fuel.
