Default Looking for the definitive tall person seat answer

Just a straight forward measurement type question. I've read tons good info. on this site with lots of opinions and options,BUT can anyone answer for sure what seat (maufacturer and model) moves the rider lower to the ground and allows them to sit further from the handlebars?

Thanks - DOM

Probably not. I don't think there's anything that's not subject to qualitative interpretation LOL. The seat pan area is what it is unless you want to sit on the fender. Lower means less padding and since you posted this on a touring forum I'm assuming that you aren't looking for one of those small, flat cruiser seats that's only good for a half hour or so.

You would probably find it easier to move your bars and floorboards away from you than to move your butt back, but Harley caters to the smaller rider much more than the taller one (I'm 6-4). Their floorboard and brake extensions are expensive, yet worthless. I guess you could go with some sort of custom seat, but you are still going to be in front of the rear fender.

HD Brawler solo worked well for me. Lower, which increased my leg room between the bars & knees as well as about 2+ inches back which now allows me to stretch my legs almost straight out to my highway pegs. When I go two-up I still use my stock seat.

Not sure about your question exactly. Moving your saddle so you sit 'closer' to the ground would also mean your legs are more 'cramped'. I would think a saddle which sits 'further back' would not only give you a bit more leg room but also position you a little further from the bars?

I've got a corbin Gambler that sits lower than stock on my road king but it's not as soft, I think it pushes you back about 2 inches too

Yeah the brawler is thinner too and you tend to feel the road more. Adding some air to the shocks helps but I don't think I would take it on a ride any more than a couple hundred miles or so asMonkey butt tends to set in. For cruising around anything less than that though it's great for me. It really changes the whole feel of the bike. I like the way it looks too.

I got the HD Tallboy seat. It moves you up and back. Took a bit of getting used to, but now, I wouldnt sell for twice the price...

Dom,

I use a CORBIN dual touring saddle. It moves you back and down. I'm 6'4" and it gave me more leg room. Good luck!

Look into threads about having your stocker modified, or I hear corbin will customize if you buy a new seat from them then you can specifiy and get what you are wanting to do. I am 6'9". I like my corbin classic solo, but i find my highway peg location made much more difference for me.
