2012 Ultra started to go for a ride in November of 2015 bike turned over once then I got the clicking noise that indicates a dead battery. Pulled the battery that day and the bike has sat without a battery from mid November 2015 through today's date March 12 2016. Bought a Duracell ultra battery today from the batteries and bulbs store . Got home and installed the new battery and turn the ignition on and nothing happens , it's like it doesn't even have a battery in it. Checked the main fuse and the fuse labeled battery both are good . Hooked a battery charger up to the battery set at 12 volts 15 amps green light showing fully charged, when I plug the battery tender up it is giving me the solid red light which indicates the battery is charging and it has been solid red for the last 30 minutes. Any suggestions about what is wrong? Any help

Make sure the battery cables are hooked up correctly. And your battery tender is hooked up to the battery as well.

I don't think you should be charging a motorcycle battery at 15 amps if that is what you are doing. Got a voltage meter? What does it say the battery is at after being off the charger for like 30 mins? I assume you get lights and everything?

 

I had it hooked up to the battery charger for less than 2 minutes this is a brand new battery he checked the voltage in front of me before I left the store with it

 

No lights or anything

 

The cables are hooked up correctly there is really only one way to hook them up there is not enough slack in them to hook them up to the wrong terminal

 

Do you have a volt meter? If so just measure the voltage across the battery terminals.

Some times Battery cables can corrode in two underneath the insulation.Take the cables loose from the battery and ohm them out. Positive to the starter and negative to the ground on the transmission case.
