Default Ultimate Seats Tall Boy vs HD Tallboy.

I recently replaced my HD Tallboy one piece seat with the Ultimate Seats Tall Boy two piece on my 2015 street glide and thought I'd give a comparison for anyone considering either. Alittle about myself, I'm 35, 6'5" 300lbs, with 13% disability to my back and neck, and 30% disability to my left knee. The HD seat was fairly comfortable and I was able to sit in the saddle for 6 hours without any pain (only stopped to refuel). There's no doubt I could have managed at least another 4-6 hours. With all that said, the HD Tallboy is ugly, IMHO. The passenger section is bulky and the shape leaves much to be desired. I'm not building a show bike, but HD could really do something better with this. My wife loved the comfort of that tumor of a passenger seat. As far as the rider's front portion, it did the job of giving me more leg room. My only real complaint was how I always felt like I was sliding forward. I constantly felt the need to readjust my butt back in the seat. With all that said, I decided to try the Ultimate Seat Tall Boy due to the good reviews here and the more aesthetically pleasing passenger pillion.

Out of the box, the ultimate seems well built and looks like it will hold up over time. The cushion is more firm than the HD seat and I feel like I sit alittle higher (not sure how much lower I'll sit once it's broken in). I was kind hoping to sit lower than the HD seat or at least the same height. My wife sat on the passenger pillion and said she likes the firmness (time will tell). I haven't gotten any ride time in, but so far i have no major complaints. I will update this post as I put mileage on the seat.

Subscribed. I just got the HD Tallboy as well and it feels fairly comfortable but I get the same "sliding" problem with it. I am wondering if it would be better to just put the stock seat back on and move the controls forward a bit.

seems to be a common complaint with this seat.
