Default Ex Police Bike Auctions

Hi,

Anyone had any experience or suggestions they could share for someone who is considering getting an ex police bike at auction?
Which Auctions?
Can you do it remotely without visiting the auction? etc

I don't know a whole lot about them in general, but a round of these just sold and I talked to some buyers and they seemed satisfied. Those were mostly 2003 models. These are newer.

Ya the local PDs to me lease them, then the dealer sells them 2 years later. The cops get fresh bikes every 2 years.

When a Police Department thinks their bikes are pretty much "Used up" . . . their bikes are as close to "Used Up"as you can get and still (although not always) have a bike that will start and run.

Now, you may get lucky; but I'd bid on such a bike as though it was a conveniently packaged collection of very used motorcycle parts.

I have seen them on govdeals.com once in a while. They generally sell for more than I am willing to pay.

I bought my '07 as a 2 year old, 16000 miles and the only issues were the crash bars were a little scratched up, and if you looked hard you could see where the cop decals were on the gas tank. I've ridden the **** out of it for coming up on 6 years, it's the best bike I've ever owned.
