Default clean oil filter change

i recently replaced my voltage regulator on my 07 rk when i did i noticed how accessible the oil filter was . today i did an oil change and desided the take the voltage regulator off off its perch then i set my form a funnel under the filter and spun it off it was very easy to get to and i did not drop a bit of oil any where . i might suggest that you poke a hole in the rt end of the filter low let it drain onto your funnel 1st ,just of this is remove the voltage regulator and you have a ton of room hope this helps some one from getting residual oil down the front of your motor you cant get in there to clean it up very easily

Or you could just take some aluminum foil and form a funnel under your oil filter out to the drip pan. No mess and only takes about 10 seconds...

I also use foil to make a funnel but I like this idea too.

I think you will find the MoCo offers a smart racing orange plastic funnel for that very job! Otherwise towelling, kitchen roll, etc......

I use a 1 L water bottle with the end cut out and a "window" cut on the top. I keep the bottle capped and slip it over the filter once I loosen it. I hand turn the filter off thru the cut out at the top of the bottle. No oil spilled and the filter falls down into the bottle with the waste oil (I do this on the jiffy stand). I've been thinking of painting them black and orange and selling them on Ebay

The VR removal thing is good too, I'm just lazy and wanna go ride.

I just cut an old 2-liter plastic soda bottle in half lengthwise and slide it under the filter. It catches any drips and the filter too.

Been using the same soda bottle for a couple years...

I'm guilty of using one of these. They're useful for filling the primary too. I forget what I paid for it on Amazon, but it wasn't much.

I cut up a 2L soda bottle, easy peasy, free and reusable.
