Hi all looking at a 2016 RGU it's used 1500 miles ( not a typo) has slip ons that's it. Never had the RG would you please post up your likes or dislikes on this year model. Thanks in advance.
Took a test ride a couple days ago & loved it. Took a special of something for a ride then after that went for a real ride 20 miles on Ray C's of Lapeer personal bike. Had d&d fat cat 2 into 1 with tm555 cams. His was had everything and just flat out rips above 2000 rpm. Im sold on the shark nose, liked everything about it
Coming from an Ultra Classic I absolutely love mine! Had to change the windshield to a Freedom Shield for my wife to love it. I did the windshield, heated grips, and upgraded the audio to get it where I wanted it.
I owned one batwing. I can't tell you about the RGU, but I enjoy my RG much more than a batwing. The fixed fairing cuts through the wind much better & I don't feel cramped like I did on the batwing.
If you're looking for a mile muncher, IMO there isn't a better choice on the planet right now. I have the stock seat, bars and windshield and can do 1000 mile days without thinking about it.
And once you own one you'll realize how pretty they are.
I know this is nitpicking as they are wonderful bikes, but I don't like the rear ends. They are now the same as Electra Glides. I don't like the turn signal on the tour pak and none one the fender, band I don't like the chrome trim on the fender. One of the things that always distinguished the RG's was the cleaner lines and fenders. Now the only difference between the RG and the EG is the fairing (which of course is far better than a batwing).
