I'm gathering up hardware needed to convert my Tour Pak into a detachable unit. I need a bracket to relocate my license plate and haven't been able to find one. I want to mount the plate above the tail light which has a lens with a clear window on top to light up the plate. Kuryakyn, Arlen Ness, Dennis Kirk, etc. all show pictures of plate frames above the tail light but no details about how they are mounted. I was hoping I could find a bracket that might mount on the fender in conjunction with the tail light hardware rather than having to drill new holes in the fender. The Harley detachable kit includes a nice bracket for relocating the plate but it costs $550.00 for the kit. I've purchased everything included in that kit for under $200.00 in aftermarket hardware, except for a plate bracket.

I will appreciate greatly your suggestions/information about this.

some of us use the roadking bar- look used for $75 or so- get the solid red lens too




you can go with a braket, but then have to figure out a plate light and wiring- the above method is pretty plug and play- marry the plate led wiring into the fender tip connector
