Default Cruise control will not turn on!!!!

Hello I have a 2008 street glide and added cruise control to it about 2 weeks ago and I am having 0 luck with it. It's been in the shop and been through 2 1/2 hours of diagnostics and the Harley tech can't seem to find a single problem with it. All connected correctly but no light will show up on the tach. But the light on the switch panel turns in. Any idea what to do?

When the panel light is on, and you want to engage cruise control, you know you need to push the RES button forward on the right hand hand control?

just asking

I just guessing here as I am not familiar with the circuits in the CC system.
Maybe there is a on/off setting in the ECU software that needs to be toggled?

They can be a major PIA to diagnose - get the FSM and follow the step by step procedure to diagnose CC system issues. On mine there are about 7-8 functions that will disengage the CC. You can guess and start replacing components or narrow it down by process of elimination through the testing process.

....The culprit on my 08 was the rear brake light switch.

That would keep cruise from "engaging", but he isn't even getting that far yet.

OP reports that he is getting no light at all on the Tach display.

When you turn cruise on, you get an amber light on the Tach to let you know cruise is on and ready.
When you "engage" cruise, the light turns Green to let you know cruise is active.
Your brake light switch didn't allow the second part of the operation to work.
But you still had that amber light on the display come on.

Same issue I had with my 14. It was the clutch switch on the left grip at the clutch
