Default Dumb Question - Electra Glide Starting Procedure

I've got a 2012 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Went out to start it for the first time this year (I know..I know).

Put the key in my pocket (it's a proximity key to let the bike know it's you), kickstand up,
gear in neutral,
switch to on,
clutch in (I don't think it makes a difference in neutral),
ignition switch turned to ignition.

The battery has always been on a tender and seems fine, all lights and horn, etc. work. When I press start - nothing.

Am I just forgetting some boneheaded simple thing in the start process, or do I have a problem? The last time I rode it was for a service last Fall.

Could be a key fob battery per jrrarr, but be sure your ignition switch is turned all the way on.

It sounds odd, but sometimes it looks like its in the right position, but needs just a tiny tweak to actually turn it on. Happens to me every now and then.

Thanks, After the first failure, I changed the battery in the key fob. To verify it worked, I turned on the ignition with the fob back in the house, and all the lights flashed. When I put it back in my pocket, and tried again, I got no warning flashing lights, so I'm sure it's ok. And I did have the kill switch set to on each time.

In my listing of steps, I just called the kill switch, the switch that was turned to on.

Looks like the battery may be bad, even though it's been on a trickle charger. It's about 4 years old, and I see now the indicator lights are fading. Looks like I'll change it first. Thanks for all the input!

When you turn the kill switch to Run, do you get that slight whine indicating the fuel pump is running? And when you press the Start, does the starter sound like it's trying to start the motor or a rapid clicking sound?

The rapid clicking sound means you need a new battery.
