Default harbor freight ***** pump

05 road king has had a front break problem for a while. felt like air in the lines.
tried to bleed the normal way, just did not work. so decided to buy the pump from harbor. pump works good.

put pump on left side caliper, bubbles wont stop. just can not believe how much air is being sucked out of the left side caliper. went through a qaurt of dot 4. no visiable signs that a line is leaking? pump holds presser.

right side claliper had a little air, then stopped.

anyone have this problem?

thanks for looking,
stoney

oil? I have used a syringe from the feed store to suck the air outta my FX front brake. Cost a dollar. The syringe must be cleaned with water immediately after use in glycol fluids. Silicone fluids maybe ok - and anyway they do not clean up with water, maybe with neat ethanol or denatured hardware store alcohol you could clean the syringe.

Your sucking air in around the bleeder threads.

I was thinking something along these lines as well. Likely not getting all that air out of the system. Way more probable that it's coming from the bleeder threads as stated, or on the bleeder itself somewhere.

Use some siliconized brake grease around the bleeder base at the threads.
Not on the threads

Put your ***** pump on the bleeder and pull vac before you break open the bleeder, then just open enough to start pulling air. If you are pulling air from the threads you are loosening it too far. Might be prudent to replace the left side o-rings.

Agree with this, should not have to open more than a quarter turn if that much.
