Default Good deal on a limited low?

Does $2000 off a limited low sound like much of a deal? There aren't many to choose from and i found one i like. Two tone velocity red. My trade in of a 14 std street glide, black, 17k miles + $14,000 otd. I'm financing through my own bank so what i owe wasn't factored in. It was the end of the day so we didn't crunch numbers just came up with the $14,000 seperation.

What did you pay and how much did you get for your SG? Where was the deal done (location)?

$2k off is a good deal unless they tacked on $2k in freight & prep first.

I understand that a consumer wants to know the bottom line OTD price. I do when I purchase a bike, car, or truck. BUT, an OTD price is impossible to compare on a forum like this. How do we know what you are including as OTD? Sales tax? If so, what's the rate? What's the tax based on, trade difference or selling price? Registration? Title? Or are those paid at a registration office after the fact? Does your state have an excise tax? Do you pay it as part of the deal, or at the town office? On another thread, the OP included his payoff in the OTD price. Wth does a payoff have to do with what a trade-in is worth? Nothing!

If you want to be able to compare deals on a forum, the information needed is: What are you buying, what are you trading in, what's the trade difference, does that number include freight and prep, and what's the bs dealer fee? The other factors vary from state to state, or if you live here in Florida, even county to county. We don't need to know the selling price, discount, or trade-in allowance. Those numbers are all smoke & mirrors anyway.

This deal includes everything. Tax (7.25%) freight, prep. I give them my bike, 14 street glide and a check for 14,000

Hard to tell on a lump sum trade. You'll have to look at it separately, one for the Limited Low on it's own. What was the price you negotiated for that bike as an OTD price.

Second, what did you get for the SG on it's own, excluding what you owe on it.

Third, how much left you owed on the SG.

From what you're saying, sounds to me the dealer only took $2000 off MSRP and got you for everything else related to the Limited Low deal (tax, docs, prep, etc.).

Should be all in that big sales invoice you got.

Hard to tell, I looked at your profile but still don't know where you live and if you pay sales tax. Out the door should include tax, license and registration.
So this is how I see it, please check for errors.

HD site 2016 FLHTK Low - 2 tone:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ow.html#!specs

$28,349 + 435 delivery = $28,784 - $14,000 difference = $14,784 + 7% sales tax, $1,034 = $15,818 for trade in.

KBB Trade in basic SG $14,500

That's how i figured it too. We have 7.25 sales tax in my county so our number were close. Thinking it might be a deal i can pass on. It was the end of the day and they were closing so i didn't get an invoice.

Doesn't look like the $2000 off was factored into that equation... Which could mean you got $13,818 for your trade.
