Default So, I just dropped her...

I've had my '10 Electra Glide for about 10 days now. Went for a nice little 150 mile ride today, make it all the way home, pull in the front yard instead of the driveway, hit a hole that's been there ever since I bought the place, and immediately drop her.

I got on YouTube to figure out "how to pick up a Harley Davidson", tried to do it, and realized I'm too friggin big & tall to get that low.

I put one hand on the top side saddlebag guard, one hand on the dropped side handlebat, pushed & pulled, and ta-daaa!
Back upright. No problem.

Anyway, I'm sure you seasoned vets out there already know how to do this. I was just proud of myself for improvising and overcoming.

I've put a bike down 3 times in my 20+ years, a road glide, a fat boy and a road King, I'm not a small guy, but when it happened and being pissed, with bad hips I have no problem snatching the handlebars and raising it up quite quickly and easily.

Can anybody tell me why my check engine light stays on for about 10 seconds now?

Been there done it but did it twice in one shot. Washing the bike on the lawn. Thought the hose was hooked on front tire. It was actually hooked on the jiffy stand. Gave it a might heave and it lifted the bike up enough that it took the weight off the stand and flipped it up. Down goes the bike. I was so pi$$ed off I grab it and hauled it upwards too hard and it went over the other side and I of course hadn't let go of the handlebars so I got tossed over the other side of the bike. Of course in full view of my family. 25 years and still living it down.

It probably threw a code when the TILT sensor was activated. Go in and clear it and see if it comes back, but it shouldn't.

It's a sick feeling when you lay one down. I took mine down a long drive that had gravel freshly poured on it. I was paying more attention to the landscape and not the gravel, and out from under me she went.

I hate to sound stupid, I really do, but how the hell do I do that? I've only been ridingsince March, so my knowledge is limited.

You can always check the odometer and check for codes. Forgot the sequence, but if all is well, it will clear after like 10 or so rides.
