backfire out breather/check engine
Hello Gentleman, question for you on maintenance on an 02 Police Electric glide. I added slip on mufflers w/o baffles several thousand miles ago. I now have a backfire out the breather with RPM's of less than 22-2300. My check engine light comes on and off. (I assumed this was low oil as this bike is also bleeding to death from many many leaks.) I never got the pipes/ injector 'mapped' as Harley seemed to want a ton of money for this and I dont know what I"m doing. The air cleaner fell off today and landed on my foot. K/N high flow but standard oval. The air filter was covered in oil inside and out which I think is coming from the motor (??) not a leak. Any suggestions of how to proceed?
(Any one near western North Carolina and want to tinker with me?)
Thanks for all your help and God Bless!!

If you are not taking care of your bike and won"t go to the dealer, why have a Harley? Go buy a nice Suzuki. It should be less labor intensive and once it stops working, you can junk it.
