Default Stock air intake to Heavy breather

Making the switch fro stock air intake to a Heavy breather. How critical is it that I have it tuned? I am going to be getting new pipes in a few months....am I able to just wait and have it tuned then?

You should be fine with just the Heavy breather for now. The ECM will calculate your VE tables and adjust the amount of fuel added. But once you have more air coming in and get new pipes and more air going out. you will want to get it tuned.

It "should" be ok but you are going to be very lean. If it's only going to be a few months before you get pipes and tune, the best solution is to leave the heavy breather in the box and install everything and tune at the same time.

As long as you don't remove the stock exhaust that contains the catalytic converter (choke point) in them you'll be fine. Tune everything once you get the new exhaust on.
