As I was riding yesterday I noticed a very loud rattle at stops. The right side hanger rubber grommet slipped out of the holder. I've been trying to force it back in. Is there a trick anyone knows about?

 

If memory serves me correct it slides in from one side, I think from the back. Maybe a little glass cleaner etc... to help it slide in.

First be sure that the grommets are in good shape.


This isn't uncommon. A couple of strategically places zip ties or safety wire will do the trick.

As Uncle Larry said above. Did the same process to mine over three years ago. No problem since then. Same pipes as you are talking about as well.
