Default Twin-Cam air filter cover options

Hey guys, here is the deal.

I have 2013 RK classic with 103 twin-cam and stock "football" airfilter cover.

I would really like to change to oldschool looking round airfilter/cover. The problem is - it seems like its only available via stage I - but my country has strict emission control etc.

1. Will stage I change emission/exaust loudness alot - or can I do the MOD without being noticed/measuted by the authorities?

2. Is there a "stage 0" alternative to football airfilter cover - so same specs as stock just diffirent appearance?

I would mainly change it for the looks - so spending 1000 euros for stage I airfilter + orange screaming eagle performance thingy seems crazy even for me.

Thanks!!!

If everything else is stock, an open air filter won't change emissions or the loudness of the bike as measures at the exhaust. What you will notice is that you can now hear the induction noise. That is to say that you will here some engine sound from the intake. Personally I like it.

Maybe I got this wrong - I always tought stage I will change everything and make it non-legal...

But tell me - If I want to change only airfilter/cover for the looks - do I need to get a dyno/screaming eagle performance orange thing?

The general rule is this. You can change the exhaust and no tuner. You can change the air filter, no tuner required. If you change the air filter and exhaust then you should have a tuner installed and dyno run.

Go ahead with the stage 1, and good luck on the cover.
Personally, I like the stock cover on my '11 RKC.
