Default center stand

I am interested in getting a center stand for my 2012 RK, but I was reading the reviews of the one HD offers and some are saying it doesn't work on bikes that have exhaust crossing over to left side from underneath the bike. Can anyone confirm this or reply with a link to a center stand that will work?

It works. But it made as a display stand ,not a real world item. Mine is hanging on the wall next to the bad Idea box. Had it on my 2011 same frame as your 2012 it will even fit on the 2016 if I was crazy enough to try it again

What is the point? Only good for piling chain.

Boxers do it because oil will run to one side.

Have you ever tried getting good a bike on a center stand?

Yes I had a bike with a center stand. Where I am the bike is laid up for 4 months in winter, so center stand would be more for storage purposes. Bike is also vertical and takes up a bit less room in the garage rather than on side stand.

I use the wheeldock ezup- from the classifieds 1/2 price, it is awesome.

like any center stand, you don't "lift" the bike up on the stand, you push the stand down under the bike...the ez up you do this from the saddle.

and then it is a ride off stand, on most surfaces, you just ride off ( slick concrete is hard for me, I usually have to push forward on the bars to get off the stand. ( in the pic, see that little oval black spot?--- that's from the rear wheel spinning on the concrete- I ground about .030" off the feets to get better traction)

makes easier cleaning day, stable for tasks, and less room- I have 4 bikes in the garage.
a 1/2 piece of plywood under the stand makes it easy to rotate the rear wheel

2 versions, 1 for 13" shocks, 1 for 12" shocks

1 bolt 5 minute install- check the youtube.

Plus 1 on the easy up. Had one on the last bike and plan on buying one for the one I have now. A bit unsettling the first few times you do it but after that solid as a rock.

I have a center stand. It is handy for cleaning, maintenance and storage, but i will warn you that the wrong dip in the road, especially with a passenger, and it can hit pretty hard.

Another vote for the EZ-Up from Wheeldock. I've had mine from day one and it's worked flawlessly. I do a quick check whenever I leave the bike just to be safe.

One of the big advantages is it allows you to get a little more gas in the tank at fill up as the bike is standing upright.
