Default Advice on fork rebound clunk

Folks,

Just had the dealer install new HD Cartidge kit on my 09 FL front forks. Rides much better, but has a serious clunk on full rebound. Regular bumps no problem, but when I hit a good Michigan frost heave it's loud enought to scare the hell outa me. Sounds like its hitting the stops!

Dropped it at the dealer and they apparently took her for a test ride and said they couldn't produce the sound. When I asked if they took the forks apart to take a look, they said that they took the outer fairing off and checked to make sure nothing came loose and was all secure, but no, they did not take the forks apart. I myself took the outer fairing off to make sure it wasn't something that was banging around under there.

I'm supposed to call and talk to the service manager tomorrow and was hoping that this vast sea of knowledge out there would offer some advice on what the culprit might be. Hoping that I can make enough sense that I at least know enough to be dangerous and that they'll drop the forks to take a look see.

Thanks all for your time!
Fitz

Is it possible your neck bearings are out of adjustment?
We just need to move...our roads are horrible brother.

I had the clunk with the stock HD springs - switched to the Legend AXEO and no more clunk

I had the clunk on my `07. Put in
Progressive springs & heavier weight
fork oil & no more clunk . Sounds like
the dealer could have done something
wrong . I never use the dealer .

I have the exact same thing going on with my 2013 Ultra limited with the new Premium upgrade.Took it back and had the dealer change the oil and use SE oil and no difference.

Curious, did you install same size kit, with same amount or reduced travel?
I had a progressive 1" lower kit put in my 15 limited. Was worried I may bottom out or experience issues on 'hard' bumps. But all ok

I installed the same size kit. I did not want to lower the front end.I am going to start to add a small amount of oil to each leg to see if that helps.

on full rebound? the clunk was on extension? Was it heard after a hard/full compression of forks?
