Default 2017 FLTRS Tranny oil drain plug?

Im a few miles away from 1K miles service.

Calling out all of 2017 touring model owners. Can you please check your touring model owner's manual page 156 Fig. 66 Transmission Drain plug. The picture shows it is on the left side right below engine oil drain plug. But the decription says it is on the right side. There is nothing on the right side anymore. Unlike the previous years it is on the right side of the oil pan. 2017 touring models tranny oil drain plug is now on left side of oil pan.

I went physically checked my bike under the the oil pan and the tranny oil drain plug is the same in Figure 66.
The location they used on the description of tranny oil drain plug does not match with the photo in figure 66.

Can you please verify and tell me if your transmission drain plug is on the left side of oil pan and is no longer on right side? Thanks!

Had my 1000 done today on my FLHXS and yes they moved the plug apparently. This was the first '17 they did a 1000 at my dealer and the tech mentioned that to me that the plug was moved. Didn't look for it myself. Oil capacity changed too, took 4.5 qts to fill, used to put 3 qt in and check it for top off.

1Transmission drain plug (right side)2Engine oil drain plug and O-ring3Hex plug (do not remove)

I guess this is what you're talking about. I guess (right side) means right side of the picture not the bike.

Hey OP, you better check those dipsticks after your next ride. Interested if the engine/trans is over serviced. Check that owners manual for proper levels.
