That's what's so hard about detailing mine so far ahead of Bike Week. Every day I have off work (4 days/week), my goal is to do a hundred miles before I have to pick my kids up from school.

I've worked on it the last two days. Gonna have three days off work before we leave next week. It's gonna be a looooong week. I hope I remember how to ride!

Looks great. I wish I had the time to spend doing this but instead?....

Spray on Purple Slice and wipe off. 5 minutes (15 tops if it's super buggy and dirty)

To my eye this looks as good as it gets.

P.S. I tried it on my collector Porsche 911 which I've only ever had detailed professionally and Purple Slice looks just as good as a $400 cut and wax.

I envy you guys and your free time. Mine gets washed at the dealer when I get new tires. It gets rinsed off occasionally at work. In other words, it sits outside in the rain. If I have that much time with nothing to do then it's a toss up between washing it and riding it. For some reason, riding always wins.

I understand the passion for keeping a clean bike but I lost it quickly with my first bike, a nightrain. I commuted on it daily and got tired of trying to keep a black bike clean. It was a daily chore. That's why my next bike was pewter pearl. Hides the road grime great.

That's my therapy. Cleaning my King and my car. Love having a spotless vehicle and they're both over ten years old

A buddy of mine details his 2006 RK weekly , and you would never know that it's 10 years old with 200,000 kms on it (124000 miles) , if he didn't tell you.
He takes off all the accessories to clean it, says he can do the whole thing in about 2 hours now.
Of course since he's been doing this since itwas new ,there is no build up to worry about.
