Default Gel or Not?

I'm thinking about buying a C&C solo and trying to decide whether or not to get gel inserts. Anyone have any experience with gel seats? Thanks

Mean City Cycles ( http://www.meancitycycles.com/ ) does a lot of seat modifications. They'd be able to give some advice. I've read ( no experience ) the the gel absorbs heat in the hot weather and cold in the cold weather.

I second mean city seats. I had one on a different bike and it was very comfortable compared to stock.

I tried a gel seat once - just once - to each their own but not for me

The foam in my EG stock seat collapsed and set me on the seat pan. Had gel insert installed. It supported and prevented me from riding on the pan, but that was about it. The gel will not crush, but is still very firm. Not what I was looking for. Mustang saved my rear.

bought a gel pad for the wife, she used it a few times and wasn't impressed. I got a good deal on Airhawks for us both and we love them.

Great choice for a seat regarding C&C seats.

JMHO, Skip the Gel, NO NEED FOR IT.

I have both a Solo and SportsTouring w/ backrest.

I ran side by side comparisons with a couple Corbins I had a few years back same model seat just the gel was the only difference.

I sold the gel equipped seat it seemed hotter and less comfortable after a few hundred miles

No gel in my C&C. Very comfortable and really like it.
