Question on DIY Handlebar Swap
Got my bars and new grips for my 2017 RK and will be doing the installation tomorrow. I've been doing some prep work by going through the service manual. When I did bar swaps on my previous bikes, the manual cautioned to insert a 5/32" material between the brake lever and the lever bracket. There is no reference of this in the 2017 service manual. Is this no longer required? What changed?

I think its because the clutch is now hydraulic on the 17 models. But I could be wrong.

I can't tell you for sure but, I would error on the side of caution and do it anyway.

I noticed on my '16 that the brake switch is now redesigned and ramped so that it's harder to snap off like the old style switch. Much easier to remove and replace the lever.
Im assuming this is what you're asking about right?

I just installed bars on my 2016 Limited and this was not an issue.

I've installed 3 different sets of bars on my 2014 RK and had no problems with the switches.
