Default small exhaust leak at clamp

I have a small exhaust leak on the right side. It is where the slip on clamps to the header pipe. I have tightened the clamp as far as it will go, still small leak. any suggestions as to how to stop this?

Remove the pipe and put a ring of silicon sealer around the header and then slide the pipe back over it. This should take care of your problem.

Take the clamp off. Remove the spacer in betwween the clamp that keeps you from over tightening it. Re install that should do the trick. I have also used some copper permatex to help seal between the muffler and header pipe. Good Luck JimmyZ

A buddy of mine had the same problem and he changed the clamp
you can buy them at the dealer for 10.00
Also make sure the clamp is over the slot that is located on the slip-on muffler

hope this helps

Get a new torca clamp and put a bead of high temp silicone, available at an auto parts store.

If you remove the spacer. Dont over tighten the clamp. You could mushroom the end of your pipe. Then it would be hard to remove your muffler. JimmyZ

Is that why I am getting the discoloration at the front of my slip ons? The left side gets none at all. I have just been cleaning it with blue job, but if a $10 clamp and some silicone will fix it for me, it seems like it would be worth it.
