Default Vance & Hines 450 Oversized Slip-ons Opinions

After hearing the V&H 450 oversize mufflers one day at a cruise night, and sound clips on YouTube, these seem like the right sound I am looking for. They were loud enough with a nice deep mellow tone and not obnoxious. My set-up is 2016 FLHXS with an FP3, and my stock pipes are de-catted. May also add the K&N 1614 air filter. Looking for input from anyone with these pipes and a similar set-up.

The reports I've read is that there is a torque lose with a pipe that big. On my '16 Ultra Classic with Fuelmoto stage 1, jackpot 2-1-2, Pro Billet cleaner, I replaced the eSeries slipons with V&H Hi-Output slipons. They are 4.5s. Fuelmoto provided me with a fresh tune. I can detect a slight drop in low end torque but you really have to look for it. At the same time, the top end range seems to be higher. I like the sound so much better. I'm planning cams in the near future which is why I swapped plus I got a smokin hot deal on the V&H lightly used.

I have them on my 16 SG CVO along with VH power duals, SE race tuner, SE259e cam. Bike sounds flat out wicked. Oh and it runs like a scalded dog.

Great pipe just test drove a customer's bike with these and the sound was pleasant without being as aggressive as a CFR. Bike was a 2015 with a FP3 tuner and ran great.

I too have the High Outputs (4.5") and with Power Duals. I asked V&H which mufflers would be best, the HO's or the 450's and was told there would be more low end torque loss with the 450's than the HO's. I did notice a very slight low end loss with the HO's but once I auto tuned it with the FP3, it had more torque than stock. Then I added Power Duals and the low end picked up even more.

'14 Limited, just curious, when you ran autotune, I assume that was on stock pipes, and curious if that was with or without the cat?

I went from Fuelmoto 3.5" jackpots with the competition baffles to the Vance and Hines 0s450's and love them. They are very deep and not crazy loud. Have already set the warning off on a few car alarms due to the thump these things produce haha. They did take awhile to burn in and sound nice and deep though.

Auto tune with tru duals. They popped quite a bit on deceleration, but after my second auto tune run, popping went away

When I put on the HO's, I originally had the stock head pipe with cat. I went with the corresponding map and noticed a bit of low end loss. I auto tuned that map and it improved. Then, I added the Power Duals, changed to that map then auto tuned. The bike runs perfect; cooler, no decel pop and noticeable power increase. The HO's are best for higher cubic inch motors but once tuned, it certainly helped my 103. Vance & Hines told me the HO's are a better choice than the 450's performance wise.
