Default Locking HD detachables Latch kit

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-lock-90300047

Anyone use these with a tour pak? I recently bought a tour pak and purchased these locks. I am trying to figure out the best way to mount them on the detachable rack but either way I go it doesn't look like I will be able to access the locking mechanisms once I have the tour pak mounted on the rack. If you have any suggestions or even better a pic that would be great.

Thanks.

You can and it is a pain, took mine off. BTW you do know you only use one right? Sorry if you know that but have seen post where people had that Question.
But like I said they are a pain.

I bought the Motherwell detachable mount. It comes with locking latches included. Much easier to take on and off. $80 bucks for a pair of locks is ridiculous. I've seen guys just drill a hole and put a padlock on so you can't rotate the latch with the lock in place.

Motherwell mount at Dennis Kirk

They price match if you find it cheaper. Can't remember what I paid for my black one.

Pad lock idea.

Yup, you only use one of the locking latches. And you can use the shorter of the two keys. They're different lengths.

I use them, I also use the Brukus Bullet secure in combination with them for added security.

I had that problem, I went ahead and locked it, I wasn't planning to remove it very often and when I finally did want to, I just unscrewed the bolt the lock was attached to and slid the lock off. (Which kind of defeats the whole purpose lol)

I use them on my tour pack, although mine are chrome. They work well, and I have no problem accessing the lock. It might make a difference that I have an 05, which uses a different bracket than 09 and up. Have them on my detachable backrest too, which I almost never use.
