Default Bike keeps stalling

Hi Everyone,

I have an 02 ultra (fuel injected) and I am having an issue with stalling. I started with stalling when I would let off the throttle. I changed the speedometer sensor but that did not fix it. I was going on a trip and the same thing happened but it would not start back up. Now it will start but as soon as I give it any gas it stalls. I am thinking maybe the TPS or maybe the power commander? Has anyone had a problem like this?

Thanks,
Jon

IAC Idle air control....simple to change...cleaning it may work. ( i would look at this first)
TPS
In tank fuel filter/lines
Crank sensor
spark plugs/wires

I will start looking at those. I could get the bike to fire back up when it would stall while I was riding until the last time it stopped working. It seemed to happen after it was warm. I would have to feather the throttle to keep it going if I stopped. If I turned it off and started it back up again it seemed to idle until I took off again then it was the same thing. One thing I forgot to mention is that the speedometer would go crazy when it would want to stall. It would bounce around not read the correct speed or just stop working all together. That is why I started with the speedo sensor.

Be sure that your battery is fully charged and that your battery cables are tight and the battery and the ground cable to the frame is clean and tight.

Your volt meter should read above "10" before you try to start the engine.

Fresh fuel?????

The IAC would be my first look. Then check the battery connections and charging.

On an '02 I would start with the IAC not expensive and not hard to do. Then I would plan on changing the fuel filter again not expensive but a little harder than the IAC.

Had the same symptoms on my '07SG and the IAC fixed it but I also did the fuel filter shortly after that.

You also could be loosing fuel pressure if the lines are cracked in the tank. The filter kit comes with new lines.

This is what I would try FIRST. These have caused many similar running issues.

I am going to try to look this weekend, I am in Ohio and we had a few good days so I wanted to jump on it while the getting was good. Snow is back today but I am going to try the PC first and see what that does for me and then move to the IAC. Probably do that to any way and see what happens. Thanks for the guidance.
