Replacing the DuoGlide

there are accurate articles on the web found with a search.there are also specialist websites for classic models:

http://www.caimag.com/forum/forumdis...1965-amp-Later

The HDforums also have areas from pans, knucks and shovels- not a lot of traffic there though.
There is a sticky up above regarding the electraglide models, but there are a lot of guesses rather than 100% correct information

If you are looking at an older model bike- a pieced together machine with LOTS of replaced parts will have a much lower intrinsic value than an all original bike.
although the "bitsa" ( bit of this, bit of that) may run better or have better brakes or more power...a original is only original once.
I have had 2 1953 Fl models, 1 is all original and maybe is worth 70K, the other is a bitsa and rides MUCH better- but is worth less than 10...
You should research very carefully.

This was THE latest thing, standard across the board, on all four models of the day.

...... back then, in the middle 70's when i was a Captain America fan in college, a guy pulled up to a head shop i frequented (the only one in the northeastern nebraska college town where i was marooned) on a new 'fully dressed' harley.
.... as i watched him dismount the shiny new 'Electra', with it's hard bags & lowers & non-radio'd fairing i was thinking' 'man, who wanna ride a bike w/all that crap on it?'
......... shows how much I knew
