K&N Air Filter *******
Well I gave it one. What's the problem? Just looked at it.Don't see no break in Membrane?
I think it a scam to sell their cleaner? Or safety BS With compressed air?
I'm using it..I'LL check for wear in about 70k miles
I don't see any changes threw out.It was cleaned with brake cleaner and blown. Then reoiled..

why not just follow the instructions...?
I have K&N over 20 years old that work as well as day 1.
I just did what they tell me.
brake clean is really the woring stuff to use, it may be eating the glue right now and pieces of the filter could be eaten by the motor...maybe not, but why chance it?
many brake cleaners use chlorine which when sprayed into a motor...produce chlorine gas.
many a shadetree has choked on that

If you used a high pressure air gun, you trashed it. I had an SE filter on mine and the Harley dealer did that. You could see numerious opens in it. I just happened to start a thread on it. K& N dealer actually went out of his way and replaced it under warranty. I just pour some oil on the new one now ever spring. Wash in in a big bucket of detergent and water ever few year, let it dry and throw oil on it. More then enough. Wrap a paper towel around it the first few short rides.

I have a routine. Every 5K I change my oil and while doing so I clean the filter as recommended. After I clean it with K&N cleaner and wash it, then to expedite drying I lay it in front of a shop fan. By the time the oil change is done the filter is dry and I spray on the oil. I hope your filter is cheaper than the SE ones that I have on my bikes. That being said I do have a backup. Bought that before I thought to use the fan as I hate down time.

I'm sorry. Did not read correct. When you looked thru mine, you could see small areas like moth holes were the medium was missing or thin. However, I am seeing the same in yours from your picture. I am sure you don't need the cleaner or the fancy colored oil. I just use good RIP's dish detergent old dino oil stuff left from topoff bottle. Guess I just started an oil thread..

It's a scam & don't follow the instructions. Your filter looks good from here. K&N doesn't know jack **** about their products, they've only been manufacturing the reusable filters for 48 years. Use high strength industrial brake cleaner & compressed air. It's a win win.
