Need help between a used Twin CVO SG and a new/used SG
Folks,
Went to the demo event today and the street glide won me over (the CVO to be specific). However, I cannot justify paying 40 Gs on a Motorcycle. Looking at a used CVO Street Glide with 24K miles for $29K OR a used 16 SGS with 1K miles for $20K. Price difference on used '16 SGS and new SGS is about $4K. Gonna take my time with this decision but want to know y'alls input.
My friend said he would rather buy a used CVO that has pretty much everything on it vs. a stock one that you need to put your mark on. Thoughts?
New M8 SGS vs. High priced used CVO SG with a lot of miles or Used Twin Cam SGS?
Thanks in advance
soon to be Harley noob

I went back and forth over a new 17 RGU vs a new 16 RGU and in the end the new engine and suspension won me out. In addition I figured that years down the road if I looked to sell or trade the M8 may make selling it easier for a few bucks more plus it was one model year newer. Of course that is all speculation into the future.
In your case a used CVO with 24K miles vs a used SGS with 1K miles at $9K difference in price would be an easy choice for me. I would take the one with 23K fewer miles and save $9K all day long. You can add a bunch of aftermarket goodies for 9K and make that bike reflective of you vs having a CVO no different than the others.
It seems you are also willing and can afford to go to $29K as you are considering the used CVO, in that case obviously you can afford the 2017 SGS which will cost you less than $29K and you have a new 2017. With that being the case I would go with the new SGS

Although 24k is a bit high (you didnt say what year the CVO was) but I had 2 R/g's the second being a used 12 CVO RG. I looked at new glides back in 14 and after putting almost 25k in my first RG to get it where I finally wanted it, I went with a used CVO for 25k, added a few goodies to fit my riding style, I havent dumped a buttload of money in it like the prior bikes. 2 years later, I havent regreted my choice one bit. Good luck. I got the warranty on mine and the dealer treats you like royalty with the CVO over a reg bike. Some may disagree with that but 3 bikes and 125k miles, just my observation.
