Default 03 RKC vrs 10 Ultra Classic

58 degrees up here in Ontario Canada and on the 18th of February no less. A buddy and I went for ride today. I have an 03 RKC and he has 2010 Ultra classic. I have the 88 engine and he has the 96. Half way through the ride he asked to try mine out as he is considering a road king. So for about five miles on some real twisty roads we swapped. I was surprised how smooth his engine was. A little more low end torque than mine but given weight differenced, both bike pretty much keep up with each other with neither running away from the other. I personally like the feel of my engine as I can feel every pulse. I'm wondering why given both bikes are rubber isolated that his is so much smother upon acceleration to the point of almost not fun. I know two different bikes but what a difference the way the motors feel going down the road. His is a beautiful bike but almost boring though.

his rubbermounts won;t have the wear of yours.

will change the throb and exhaust note

That makes sense. I have a tuner and he doesn't. his bike as 20,000 Km and mine has 38,000. Speaking of mounts, mind look fine but should I change them out? Both bikes idling have the same HD Shake.

The 2010 will have a different frame than your bike. That along with a different motor. 2009 and up is a totally different animal.

I suggest Google.

Was just wondering why I can feel every pulse of the engine and the 2010 feels like an internally balanced motor. Nothing wrong with either but what difference.
