Default Burly brand apes and heated grips?

Looking at getting a set of the 13" burly brand bagger apes and wire/cable kit. they have a small disclaimer at the bottom of the page that says they might not work with some heated grips but didn't specify which ones. I'm using the stock heated grips that came on the (2010) FLHTK. I emailed burly but haven't heard back yet. I'm hping to get the kit soon so i can dig in and get it over with before spring.

anyone running these with the heated grips? if not can you suggest any 12"-14" bars in the sub $300 range that will work?

I have stock heated grips on my Wild Ones 12 1/2's.

ETA: the wires barely make it out the hole at the bottom to plug in together. Probably have to extend them.

Good point. I'm getting a cable kit but I'm 110% sure they don't account for heated grips

I also have 10" Wild Ones with HD heated grips (non-stock). I notched the rubber flange on the left grip to run ALL the wires internally. I did have to cut about 3/8" off the left bar to allow the trip and master cylinder to slide all the way to the step up in the bars. There is a link to my bike below with lots of pictures of the install toward the end.

I had to take 3/8" also off the left handlebar, i run HD chrome and rubber grips. I had to remove the sheathing on all the wires on the left side to get them through and they went pretty easy. And don't forget urethane bushings

I have a factory 8 inch heated grip extention that I don't need, $5 plus shipping and it is yours. It is the one you attach to the grip and the harness attaches to it inside the bars. pm me if interested.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been inside the bars yet so i'm still fuzzy about how the heated grips connect. how difficult of a job was the bushing removal/install? did you need any special tools?

Quick update, burly said the bars will not accommodate heated grips.
"No, they will not. The heating element goes inside the bar, and our inside diameter is not large enough to accommodate." So now I'm back at square one.
