16 Road Glide Brake Clunk
#12
Thanks for the info Geezer Glide 56. I will put bike back on lift and recheck everything again to make sure. I have rode it a few times since noticing this and haven't noticed anything other than what I have mentioned. Never hurts to check, check, and then check again.

It's probably nothing more than your pads clicking around. When you pulled the wheel you pushed your caliper pistons and pads back some to make room for the rotor to be reinstalled easily. You're hearing some of that clearance remaining because things didn't go back to the exact original position (dirt, seals sticking, etc).
You can probably fix it all by pulling the calipers and thoroughly cleaning them and the pads, particularly around the caliper pistons. Then relube the pistons (lube and press back to lube the seals), as well the caliper pins and brake pad ear contact surfaces.

I haven't tried that but I can try that today and see. I am going to ride out in a couple of hours and when I get back, I'll report back if that helps. If not, I will clean and lube calipers as foxtrapper recommended. I really appreciate all of this help and will definitely keep you all posted of the results.

I went out and rode some and tried seating the pads as Cygnusx51 has mentioned. I thought this may have gotten it taken care of and rode a little more this afternoon and it clunked a couple of times. It did help some because it didn't do it as often. I didn't have time to clean the piston as foxtrapper has recommended but will hopefully have time tomorrow to do that. I will keep everyone posted on the results. Thanks again
