Default 34 MPG Road King Stage 1 PV

Is it possible to improve my MPG's without sacrificing great performance? I'm only getting 34 MPG's. I ride through about 15 miles of hills 65 mph and 30 miles of Frwy 75-80 mph on my commute. I feel like 34 is really low but the bike runs great. Any help would be appreciated especially from Fuel Moto.

contact FM, you should be seeing 40+

it could be that overall it is wasting gas, or there could be just a couple of places where it is really wrong.

gas alone does not equal performance ( other wise we'd all be riding around with the choke pulled)- the correct amount gas and the correct air and spark timing all in combination make power.

I will see 34 but that takes steady 80~85 MPH

30 miles of 75/80 is where your mileage is going.

34-36 is what i got before and after stage 1 with pv in about the same riding conditions you're describing on my road king. Got around the same with my 2011 ultra limited. I'll see better if i'm constantly riding 55-60, but what fun is that.

My Ultra is outfitted like your King except the added lowers. I used to get 40-42 with stage 1 and stock headers with slip-ons. Mileage dropped to 38 after replacing stock headers with True Duals (same slip-ons). Now with Stage 2 cams and same exhaust it's dropped to 33-36 depending on throttle position as with the cams I'm running a bit more aggressive.

I'd say you should be a bit better than that.

The best route to go would be to use the Fuel Map Revise from on our website https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-33537-...-services.html
You will fill out all of your bike info as well as what the bike is doing, be sure to attach a copy of your current map and if you have any datalogs that will help too. We will take a look at everything and email you an updated/revised tune. For reference most 103 Stage 1 bikes will get in the upper 30's to low 40's for mileage; this is of course relative to conditions, load, riding style, etc.. It sounds like you are a bit lower than normal but it shouldn't take much to get it up to where it should be.

BTW, sounds like you have a commute that most would die for

My Stage 2 103, putting out 103 BHP and 108 TQ to the rear wheel, gets 40 mpg at 70 mph.

You're either getting way more aggressive with your right wrist than you're letting on, or something needs adjustment.
