Default Used Andrew cams

So looking to do cam upgrade . Acquired a used set of andrews 48h. No groove marks and teeth are all straight and not warn. . Cam out of 2011 street glide. Bad news is I don't know how many miles in them . Any thoughts if they would be ok,going in 2012 road king.

48 is a great cam for a 96. pulls hard from giddy up to about 4500

the 103 likes the andrews 57. you can use the 48 in the 103, but i think you will run out steam, so to speak and want something more developed with the 103 in mind.

For what they cost, I'd put a new set in my bike and not go with used. When I did my cams I replaced the cams, inner bearings, lifters, and used adjustable pushrods. Was well worth my money.

ETA I used Woods TW-222 cams, Woods lifters, and FM pushrods

I just put a used set of 48h's in a 2013 road glide. We had about $325 in it with new lifters, adjustable pushrods, bearings and gaskets and used cams. All is well and runs well with canned map. It is headed to dyno this week.
The 57h need a compression bump to really shine. The 48's shine till about 5k. Down low in where you want the tq on a bagger imo.

They are worth it to put in. Install them and don't look back!

I have installed used Andrews 26H in my 07 and they ran good, I wouldn't hesitate to install a good used cam again.

As long as they are not scored or show signs of wear I would run them. They sort of like a non EPA improved version of the 255. They will work well in a 103 as a bottom end to mid range cam.

Thumbs up

A set of cams will do 100k miles if not many more, so if they look good, putting them in a secondhand engine can't be bad! Just install them properly, by the book.
