Just finished my winter project. Wood TW-555 cams....Ness Big Sucker ...V&H dresser duals (already had the Rinehart 3.5" slip-ons) and THUNDERMAX. I finally bought the wife a lap-top and 'borrowed' it for the day to do the mapping. I'm far from being a mechanic or a computer geek yet I was able to follow the instructions and get it all accomplished. Weather looks fair for the upcoming week (above the freezing mark) so I'll add my 2 cents once the roads dry up and I'm able to give 'er a rip around town. The T-Max let's you set up 3 main tuning paramaters (Base Map Key Elements) very easily (displacement, Throttle body/injector size...usually 'stock' and exhaust style. You can then tweak things like after market cams etc. I had more problems learning how to use the stupid mouse pad thang on the lap-top. (Couldn't figure out how to "right-click" until I asked around)

Does the Thundermax replace the HD ECM or piggy back?

the thunder max is a replacement ecm, with autotune option, this why i want it for my 05' open loop, i can tune it with a map, and it will fine tune my map

Also search for the Rev Perf Auto tune device. It sure sounds good from what I read, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

If you load in a tune to the unit called crane 310 it will set the starting point there and IF you have Auto tune (oxygen sensors in the pipes, it will make minor corrections to the base map you put in. This is my under standing
