Default Doherty Air Cleaner?

Is anyone using the Doherty PowerPacc air cleaner with the powervents. Is it any better than the screamin eagle or big sucker to justify the added cost. Planning on getting the TFI to go with it. Any advice or comments would be great. Thanks guys!

I am running it and IMHO it is a piece of art.

My SE pot metal POS backing plate broke one of the bolt holes after a year I would not give them any more money.

The PP lets you remove the bracket that the SE mounts to as the PP is solid billet and becomes that bracket.

The internal insert extends your intake tract and makes a very smooth air flow.

It and the vents are top of the line and it is one product you get what you pay for.

Added benefit is you loose that "blow by" oil being injected back into your throttle body and into your chambers onto your pistons and diluting your AFR. However if you choose to you can set it up that way.

Great product.

I am using the Doherty Power Pack with vents. It is a well made intake.

Its a shame to hide it behind the cover.

Very sanitary looking unit. The velocity stack looks functional and if it really works I would get one. I think I will wait just long enough to hear from satified owners.

The stack works for sure. All you have to do is look into the throttle body with and without the stack in.

There is a technique for tunning to the pulse wave which I can not explain but there a 4 waves involved. When you increase intake tract you are smoothing these waves and working toward tunning to the wave, which from what little I understand of it in our bikes is the 3rd wave.

At any rate this unit is first class, puts a Screaming Eagle to shame, and you will not regret this purchase.

Not affiliated with them just a VERY satisfied customer who would like others not to waste the money on the SE junk like I did.

I was looking at pictures of the Doherty kit and it looks thicker than the SE kit. Does it stick out further than the SE? The install looks simple and adding the valves to prevent crankcase pumping seems like a good idea to me.
In your opinion does the Doherty kit make more power than the SE kit? The magazine tests were compared against a stock set up from what I read.
