Who takes their lower fairings off on their Ultra's? I just took mine off the other day when it was in the 100's here and let me tell you....it is awesome to have the additional wind. I can hear the stereo so much better and I really like the additional legroom. Does anyone else take their's off during the summer? I have heard so much chatter about Hogtunes speakers on here and after taking the lower's off, I don't think I need them. I don't ride that much in the winter, and if I can hear this much better now, then I am good to go!

Do you have the vented lowers? I took mine off and could not tell a difference.

 

Took mine off for the summer, back on for the the cooler temp's. Did not notice a change in the tunes.

 

I don't think the lowers on the '04 are vented.

 

'05 was the first year for the vented lowers, leave mine on all year. Like the extra storage in then little compartments too, keep cleaning stuff, oil rag, ect in there.

 

I have a 2007 Ultra, and after talking to the Harley tech's in Gettysburg and with Harley customer service. At their advice, I removed the lowers for the rest of the summer. On the 2007's it does make riding more comfortable, both for the passenager and rider. I'm thinking of adding the quick detach kit this fall when I put them back on.

 

ITS so ez toi take em on + off that every june they come off my ultra and back on in the fall.. and yes less noise with no lowers !

 

I left my lowers on this year and I have not had a problem with them being there. And it has gotten really hot here lately but I have taken my bat wings off and that has made a big difference...

 

Lowers come off for summer along with a shorter windshield. Tour pack off most of the time also.

 

Lowers Off on my 2008 Ultra. Much cooler ride, even with the vents open when they were on there. will put them back on in the fall.
