RE: HQ 103 107 whats the diff.
You should ask Doug or Kevin at HQ; but, if IIRC, the 107 is a Revolutions Performance product with nikasil cylinders and their pistons--so it is not a custom/precision machined product by Doug. The RevPerf stuff is manufactured to certain specs and tolerances/variances and stored. The order is filled by pulling a set of cylinders. a set of pistons, etc.
An HQ 103 is custom built with the pistons matched to the specific cylinders you get; boxes of parts are not pulled and put into a bigger box and shipped.
I am pretty sure HQ will recommend the 103" rather than the 107" they offer as an accommodation to those customers who want it.

The nikasil cylinders disapate heatfaster than steel lined aluminum cylinders. You will end up with an engine that runs cooler and it will maintain a more constat temprature which means you will have a more constant power output. I don't know if this is new to big twins, they have made these for Sportsters for years.Go to the Sportster web sights an read about them; they work.

hey jag1886, i have been asking the same question myself, why cant we just bore out a HD cylinder the extra .062 to make it a 107 vs. 103, heat transfer is one of my concerns, another is the strength or the spigot, would the aluninum or ductile iron HD liner be less likely to crack or break off ????? could save some serios money just boing out spare cylinders to build a 107
