07 do you ever use 6th gear???
With over 10,000 miles on my 07 Road King Classic I love the bike but don't get much of a chance to use 6th gear. 5th gear just feels and sounds right up to 70-75. I get up to 70 and put it in 6th and then take it out because the bike just seems to run better in 5th. What do you other folks experience??? At 70 mph and over the bike does not seem to be at too high of a rpm. I do not have a tach. For those with tachs what does your tach indicate at 70 to 75 in 5th?
Thanks,
Rick

I'm usually above 80 before I hit 6th-- the speed limit is 75 out here, so it's real nice to have it. With the stock 96 you need to be careful not to overuse 6th becuase you can lug it pretty bad. Even w/ my 103", I still wait till I'm on level ground and in the 80mph range.

Got 1700 miles on my 08 FLHT. Went to synthetic amsoil in the motor and transmission at 1000 miles.
I shift to 6th when I'm at 66mph and not pulling a hill or whatever. The rpms are around 22-2300 in 6th at 66mph. If I feel it pull very hard and the rpms drop below 2200 I shift back to 5th.
6th gear will give you better fuel milage. I love 6th gear at 70-90 mph, she cruises
Put a Tach on yer handle bars so you can watch the tach and know what yer doing.
