Rear Brake Pad Install
Replacing stock rear brake pads with lydall pads. Any tips/tricks to lining up thepads so that the pivot pins can be pushed through front and rear pada. Obviously doing something wrong or a need three more hands. The anti rattle clip makes it difficult to aling the pad holes so I can push the pivot pins through. [:@][:@][:@]HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Rear Brake Pad Install
push the outer pad up into place and use a flat blade screw driver to hold in place while you insert one pin part way and then insert the second part way. slide the inner pad into place, hold with screw driver while pushing first pin through until it seats, now push the second pin through until it seats. now screw the pins in.

Do you have the MOCO Service Manual? It says unless you want to have the trouble you're having, only drop one pad at a time to save wrestling with the spring. You pull the pins halfway, pry the piston on the inner pad, drop the inner pad and replace it. apply brake pressure to press the new pad against the rotor and hold the clip in place. Now do the outer the same way, but pull the pins all the way out and replace the outer pad. Now slide the pins back in, which should line up since the inner pad is holding it in place.
if you dropped both pads at once, i would recommend using the outer pad as described above and pushing it in place and using a #1 philips screwdriver to align the spring hole through the outer pad. Once you have that done, see if the other hole is aligned, too. if so, then youcan press the brake pedal to hold them in place, remove philips and install pins. If not, then use another philps to do the same on the second hole. After you get the holes aligned, press the pedal to hold them in place so you can remove the screwdrivers one at a time to replace the pins. Pressing against that anti-rattle spring is a PITA.

RE: Rear Brake Pad Install
I just did my rear brake pads at 17k miles. After a lot of cursing trying to put in one pad then the other and lining up the holes, (as the directions tell you to do), my son looked at it. He pushed in both pads together and I put in the pins. Piece of cake doing it that way. I think by pushing one pad in at a time you **** the anti rattle which make putting in the second one difficult.
