Default Ramp for loading bike in a truck

Everyone is getting tired of picking me up the shop --- i have a truck that the bike will fit into the bed--need a ramp

Has anybody used this ramp from Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94057or have recommendations on a different ramp?

Thanks,
Lyn

I don't know about that ramp, what I am trying to figure out is why you have to have your bike in the shop so much? bad service?, bad parts? or just putting a lot of toys on it?

That ramp won't work. Your bike will bottom out at the top. You need a ramp that has an arch in it. Believe me, I learned the hard way.

I did a search on Ebay for "Harley ramp" and there are a couple for around $200.

And a few very nice looking ramps for close to $400

Take my advice and don't try to use a cheap flatramp.

If I had to use a ramp alot, I would invest in one of the auto loaders. Then no worries about dropping it or riding up that dam spooky ramp..

For the price of that autoloader you can get a new cargo trailer with door ramp.

I'd prefer the autoloader over a trailer in this situation. No tags to renew every year, no worries over finding a place to keep it, and none of the maintenance costs or concerns associated with owning a trailer (tires, wheel bearings, etc). The power ramp seems to me to be a simpler solution for short, infrequent trips to the shop.

That ramp is too steep and is not bowed. The bike will bottom out where the ramp and tailgate join. There are ramps for bikes but will cost you around $500

Whatever works best for you is worth the money. When i buy a product i try to buy one with multi use in mind and i can do a lot of things with a cargo trailer and i use my truck bed for my other hobbies so i do not want a bulky ramp installed in it. I thought about the other ramps that are mentioned but the WHAT IF bothers me with a bike as big as my UC.

I agree you will need a longer ramp than the harbour freight. I have a set would sell as i have bought a auto loader. 3pc set 102 inches long arched rated at 1500lb middle ramp with 1000lb each side ramps.will make you a deal .
