Default Engine/Transmission Interface and Top Cover Kit vs. Chrome Bolt-ons

Good afternoon,

Any feedback on HD Part# 66532-07 (Engine/Transmission Interface and Top Cover Kit) would be appreciated. Better to go with seperate chrome parts than this cover kit? Its roughly a wash for labor and parts (seperates maybe $20 more...)

Why would you pay labor? This is a VERY easy install, if I remember correct it provides the allen wrenches but it has been a while.

I used the Kuryakin interface cover as I didn't like the ribbed design. Go to their website and give it a look.

I've got this one, but for a bike prior to '07. (it's a little different than the one for the 96"that you link to) It attaches with allen screws. On and off real easy.

So,does the installation of thiscover literally justinvolve the removal of stock screws, assembly of the cover parts, then fastening ofthe covervia the allen wrench?

You'll have to forgive me, I am the villiage idiot when it comes to motorcycle mechanics (or automobile mechanics, or anything mechanical). I am the very reason service departments stay in business.

Sad, but true.

IT will NOT work if you decide to go true-duals later on. I ended up just buying the complete chrome bolt kit.

Very easy install, if you do the primary cover make sure you have a torque wrench, aslo wear gloves, the fins on the cylinder are sharp on the knuckles.

I used the Kuryakyn one because I have RH true duels.Like was said before, the H-D kit will not work with true duels. It's a very easy install.
