I just puchased a 2007 Black Cherry RK Classic last month.Moved up from a 2007 Sportster 1200C(still have it).I think I need to change the handlebars after riding my shoulders are sore.Any suggestions.

First congrats on the new bike. Many guys with the RK's switch the bars and some prefer the Heritage bars and others go with aftermarket. It could be that you just aren't used to it and will be in a short time.

Welcome to the 'club' I seriously looked at the black cherry, but went with black pearl in the end. They are both awesome colors. I too am looking for new bars, considering the heritage. I really wish there was a way to try them out before installing them. I'd hate to go through all that and find out they aren't comfortable

Congrats and have fun accessorizing

Nope...thats not it. Most of the RKC riders here on the forum have had problems with the stock HD handlebars. The two bars that most switch out to and appear to be happy with are the Heritage Softail bars by HD or the Chubby 508's / 518's (dependingon your height) by Wild 1's. I have the Chubby 518's and really like them.

Just for grins I sat on a stock RKC at the dealer yesterday...the difference is night and day!

Good luck and congrats in the new bike.

i put heritage bars on mine, get the manual and do the change-out yourself...consider change of the grips at the same time also..the left grip is glued...finally read the instructions about the piece of cardboard at the hand brake lever or you may damage the brake light switch on the handlebars..not difficult to do change-out...no special tools..but requires a bit of patience...cover front fender and tank with plenty of towels before you start..

Congrates on your new RK. I too am looking at the Chubby W0508. The stock bars make me lean too far forward. Enjoy your ride.

I had the touring handlebars on my RK classic. The touring bars that harley offers raise your arms and pull back a little more also the cables don't have to be changed. Big difference when ridingmuch more comfortable. Install time was about 3hours but was the first time I ever attempted it.

Yea, I went with the Heritage, no regrets. No cable changes or anything.

First Congrats on the new bike. I've moved my bars a couple of times and finally decided to swap them out for a set of HD Street Slammer bars. Should have them on this week.
