Going to check compensator nut this weekend and don't have the locking tool, I've seen and read about ways around this but I can't find it in the forum. anybody used an alternative method that worked OK? Thanks, Tim

I've used to 2, 1/2 inch bolts with the heads positioned into the teeth of the gear. I just reversed them when I tightened the nut.

You can make your own out of a piece of flat bar. I can dig up the dimensions if you need them.

Thank's guys, I've wondered if something like the handle of a screwdriver like a Mac or Snap-on would hold up. I'll give that a try first. Tim

When I installed a chrome inner primary on my 06 Dyna I just used an air impact wrench to remove it and I adjusted the torque setting to match what was the recommended torque when I reinstalled it.

Ball up a shop rag, if your primary chain is tight enough it works great and wont hurt anything.
