08 Ultra Classic Idle problem
I just picked up a 105th Ultra Classic. As I was riding it home, I noticed that the bike was running at high rpm. At the stop signs, the bike was running at 2000 rpm. If I turn the throttle away from me then the idle goes down to 1000 rpm. So how do I adjust the idle down to 1000 rpm on throttle by wire model?
thanks in advance.

Earlier post indicated that after 80 miles, it went down. Did he meant after total 80 miles of travel or 80 mph?
What is your current idle speed?
Thx

RE: 08 Ultra Classic Idle problem
Try cycling the power 4 times with the throttle grip in the idle position. This allows the ECM to relearn the zero postion of the twist grip sensor. Then make sure your throttle grip is not sticky...which can cause issues if it doesn't return to the zero position every time. It can also learn the wrong position if you shut your bike off with the run stop switch...with your hand on the grip.

RE: 08 Ultra Classic Idle problem
There should be no need for anything to "relearn", or any of that crap.
The engine will idle at up to 2,000 rpm or so briefly in cold temperatures, and the idle should reduce by itself gradually as the engine warms.
Once it reaches normal operating temperature, it should reduce idle speed to about 1,000 rpms, give or take. If it's not doing that, something's wrong.
