I use the rear floorboard brackets. Strap them down and the bike will be solid!

Securing the rear is secondary to securing the front. The front is where the actual securing of the scoot takes place. That said, I agree with BAGGERDSM as far as securing the rear with one exception. I would recommend that you place a block(s) of wood under the crossmember and cinch the rear down onto it via the passenger footboard bracket. This will prevent the rear of the scoot from riding the suspension. Without it, unless you completely compress the shocks you run the risk of strap shock which is slack in the straps if the scoot bounces on the rear suspension. This coud lead to the straps loosening or failing completely.

I have an open trailer and use the bottom front of the bag crash bars pulling about 45 angle toward the back of the bike. I check the straps (front and back)whenever I stop and keep the whole bike rock solid still. I use the side bars of the open trailer for the other end of the tie downs; don't know why you could not have something like it in the closed trailer.

I see in your picutres you have it tied down by the fender... Is it not the best to have your front shocks compressed for a period of time.. I am wondering because I will be hauling it probley a 1000 miles or more... and I have never seen it tied like that before thanks
