RE: just ordered saddlebag bra and tank bra and lowers
Why? I know you want to protect the beautifull paint, but at what cost, and who for? The next owner? Vinyl on the seat is too much vinyl for me but I don't want to sit on a soggy saddle so I live with it. I was in Port Dover, Ontario last summer (Friday 13) looking at all the bikes. I don't remember seeing a bra on any bike. I'm not saying they weren't there. I justwouldn't notice it. The coolest bike I saw was an old shovelhead flh, about a 1970. It looked as though it had been lifted out of a barn, with 20 years of dust on it, and set in the middle of the street. I guess there was just enough oil on the paint to stop the dust from blowing away. It looked like original white paint. To each, his own. My Scottish mother used to call it "penny wise and pound foolish". You pay big bucks for a shiny paint job and cover it with cheap vinyl. Just spay it flat black if that's the look you want. I have a bra for a car I own. The previous owner told me he bought it to protect the paint but didn't have the heart to cover it up. It's still in the box it came in many years ago. Hope yours stays there too. It's just plain selfish. The only reason to use a bra is if you had to replace your outer fairing with an orange one you picked up at ebay. Temporary coverup, that's all. Man, Harley owners are a strange bunch.
