Stripping down an Ultra

RE: Stripping down an Ultra
It's a great idea. I love mine stripped, andI can dress it up somewhat for a long trip or to bring more stuff and the wife on a day trip. I've also got a quick detach rider's backrest to make it even more versatile.
First things first, loose the bumpers, big improvement. the rear one will need a thirty dollar bracket that goes inside the fender to hold the saddlebag rails from moving in towards the tire. No big deal.
Removing the saddlebag guards is also fast and easy. I went with a used set of Road King bag guards off of eBay for like $30.

Mine's an '05 Electra Glide Classic - I kept the saddle bag guards, but normally dont run with the touring trunk on it unless I take a longer trip.
Lower windshield... Corbin seat is more sleek looking than the factory bean bag chair...
Next is a Corbin Classic Solo w/studs when the budget permits!
With the detachable mounting hardware I can have the tourpack on it in 5 minutes... Or I have a passenger backrest that goes on it 30 seconds flat...I canswap seats fromSolo to Dual Touring, etc to make it a full dresser for a trip.
Stripped down look for every day use:

Fully dressed out for a road trip (5 minute job):

RE: Stripping down an Ultra
Thanks for all the pics. I am still a little undecided about what I am going to do.I haven't been riding two up as much here lately and was thinking about trying to get a sleeker look from the ultra, more street glide looking is suppose. If I go through with it I will post some pics. Thanks again.

This is my '04 police model EG in its "normal" state: solo seat/no tour pak:
And this is the bike for a lengthy trip:
Frankly, Ultra/Classic owners would get a nice surprise at how much different the bike feels without the tour pak on the bike.
I've learned that I have to remove the TPvery soon once the trip is over--if I leave it on the bike I get too used to its convenience--so I make it a point to remove it promptly after the trip.
