Vance & Hines end cap removal

Vance & Hines end cap removal
I have a set of the Vance & Hines Classic Slip-ons. The end caps are very tarnished and I wanted to remove them to either polish them or get them powdercoated. I have gotten one side to come out, but the other side won't even budge. Does anyone have any ideas of how to break this thing free?? I think I am to the point of replacing the end caps now.

I use a pipe that just fits nicely into the exit hole.
First spray a bit of wd40 or pb blaster around the cap to pipe joint.
I insert the piece of pipe into the cap and work it side to side and up and down.
If that doesn't work , tap around it lightly with a large rubber mallet till it moves a little.
Only wiggle the pipe enough to get it done and moving outward.
This method insures that you won't mark up the cap and saves the finish.
When I'm all done , I clean the end of the pipe and cap , and put a little silicone grease on the O ring to reassemble.
A little blue locktite and only enough torque on the screws to do the job , they seem to get tighter after a few thousand miles.
Once I had one that was really stuck , so I made a bar with a J shaped hook (to go inside) and put vise grips on it and smacked the vice grips with a hammer
as a puller to get it out.
YMMV

Try mixing liquid soap and water and spray it around the end cap from a squeeze bottle. Its gonna take some work back and forth to get it free, and keep it wet. Got both screws out??
